Rules & Regulations

Please read these Official Rules before entering the WMU Athletics 50/50 Raffle (the “Raffle”).  By purchasing a ticket, you represent that you meet all of the below-stated requirements and agree to be bound by these Official Rules, and by the decisions of WMU Athletics, (the “Sponsor”), or its representative.

1.                   THE RAFFLE:  WMU Athletics, (“Sponsor”) is a raffle whereby tickets are sold during football games at Waldo Stadium and surrounding areas, during hockey games at Lawson Ice Arena and during men’s and women’s basketball games in University Arena. 

 

a.      In football, the raffle will begin approximately 1.5 hours prior to kickoff.  Raffle sales will end at the beginning of the 4th quarter, and the winning number will be announced over the PA system and shown on the video scoreboard during the second media timeout in the 4th quarter. 

b.      In hockey, the raffle will begin approximately 1 hour prior to faceoff.  Raffle sales will end with 15:00 remaining in the 3rd period, and the winning number will be announced over the PA system and shown on the video boards during third media timeout in the third period (under 5 minutes left).  

c.       In basketball, the raffle will begin approximately 1 hour prior to tipoff.  Raffle sales will end with 12:00 remaining in the second half and the winning number will be announced by the PA announcer and on the video scoreboard during the 4th media timeout in the second half (under 4 minutes left). 

 

The winning number will also be posted on http://wmu.ms.5050central.com/index.html.  One fan that has purchased a raffle ticket will, for that particular game, win fifty percent (50%) of the net proceeds (also known as “Pot”, or “Pool”).  All remaining proceeds from the Raffle shall be retained by the WMU Athletics. 

2.       ELIGIBILITY:  The Raffle is only open to anyone eighteen (18) years of age and older as of the date of purchase.  Only one winner per ticket is allowed.  Need not be present to win.

3.       ENTRY:  You may enter the Raffle, if you meet the eligibility requirements, by agreeing to follow these Official Rules and purchasing Raffle ticket in various price points from our stationary selling location or from Raffle sales representatives roaming in or around stadium or arena locations.  All Raffle ticket purchases must be completed by the end of the applicable Raffle Period.  The Sponsor is not liable for any lost, misdirected, incomplete, illegible, undelivered, or destroyed tickets regardless of cause or person responsible including, but not limited to, any problem or technical malfunction of any computer, online system or server or technical problem.

4.       DRAWING:  The prize winner will be selected in a random drawing from among all eligible Raffle tickets purchased during each Raffle Period.  The drawing will be conducted by the Sponsor whose decision will be final.  The selected Raffle number will be announced by the PA Announcer and shown on the venue video boards (if applicable).  It will also be posted on http://wmu.ms.5050central.com/index.html. In the event the scoreboard or website is inoperable, the selected raffle ticket/number can be found at the 50/50 Kiosk at any game.

In the event of weather shortened event or event cancelled prior to the end of the Raffle Period, the winning ticket will be drawn at the conclusion of the event, and the winning number will be posted on http://wmu.ms.5050central.com/index.html.

How to Claim a Prize

To claim a prize, the holder of the selected Raffle ticket (a “Prize Claimant”) must contact Sponsor and present the winning Raffle ticket, in person, to the WMU Athletics Representative at the ticket office for football, the ticket office for basketball, the raffle kiosk in the front lobby for hockey; or they can contact a WMU Athletic representative by emailing athl_5050@wmich.edu within sixty (60) days of the drawing. The 50/50 Raffle ticket is the only valid receipt for claiming a prize.  Each Prize Claimant must provide Sponsor with all information required to claim a prize (including tax identification information).  In the event a Prize Claimant:  (a) does not notify Sponsor within sixty (60) days of drawing; (b) is ruled ineligible for any reason; (c) refuses the prize; the Prize will be forfeited, and will be donated to a non-profit organization of the Sponsor’s choice.  Sponsor has no obligation to contact potential winners.
